Linda Sparrowe has a long and varied career in the holistic healing arena, with a special emphasis on yoga and women’s health. She’s been editor-in-chief of Yoga International magazine, as well as managing editor and acting editor of Yoga Journal. Called “a principal creative force and a defining voice for yoga in America,” she’s been instrumental in bringing the authentic voice of yoga to thousands of practitioners—and teachers—who are ready to take their practice to the next level. ¶ Linda has lent her writing, editing, and coaching skills to a variety of book projects and has authored several books of her own, including Yoga At Home; YogaMama; A Woman’s Book of Yoga and Health (with Patricia Walden); and Yoga: A Yoga Journal Book. ¶ Linda co-founded the Courageous Women, Fearless Living retreats for women touched by cancer—her heart's work—and (pre-COVID) led a yearly yoga and meditation retreat in Costa Rica for beginners and advanced practitioners eager to dive deeper into their practice. She also leads workshops for yoga teachers on how to teach those who may be facing any number of challenges from body issues to anxiety or depression. ¶ Linda is on the advisory board of the Yoga and Body Image Coalition and has contributed a chapter in the book Yoga and Body Image and the foreword to Yoga and Eating Disorders.
